I f you’re like most parents, the way you handle discipline problems is by reacting to your child’s behaviour and not thinking about whether your reaction is good for your child or your overall situation at home.

Often, parents feel they must ‘control’ their children, when in reality the only person a parent can control is him or herself. As a parent, you can force your child to do something, but that’s not the same as trying to work out why your child is acting in a certain way.
